Court interpreter and translator for the police

by Inovatus

When a person in an official or work procedure does not understand enough Croatian, the language, place, date and expected duration of the interpretation should be agreed in advance. Inovatus checks the availability of a suitable translator or court interpreter according to the type of procedure and the request of the competent institution.

01

When is an interpreter needed in the police?

An interpreter may be needed during an official interview, statement or other procedure at the police station when a person cannot communicate clearly enough in Croatian. The request for interpreter status is determined by the authority conducting the procedure.

In the inquiry, provide information about the appointment and, if you have one, the request of the police regarding the status of the interpreter. This service does not include legal advice.

02

What do we need to make a reservation?

To make a reservation, specify the language, police station or city, date, time, expected duration and type of procedure. For rarer languages, we recommend sending an inquiry as soon as the term is known.

  • language and direction of interpretation
  • location
  • date and start of term
  • estimated duration
  • special request of the institution if any
03

Arrival at the location and remote interpretation

Interpretation can be arranged on location, subject to availability. Telephone or video conference interpretation is used only when such method is appropriate and accepted by the institution.

04

Preparation of the interpreter

If there are documents that can be submitted that contain relevant terminology, I can help the interpreter prepare. To organize an appointment, it is not necessary to send more personal data than is necessary.
